The new Coldplay album “Moon Music” will be released in October 2024. “Moon Music” is Coldplay’s first album since “Music Of The Spheres” (2021), which reached number 1 in the UK, number 2 in Germany and number 4 in the USA, was nominated for “Album of the Year” at the Grammy Awards and has generated over 4 billion streams to date.

With Coldplay already breaking completely new ground in terms of sustainability on their current tour – compared to the last stadium tour, CO2e emissions have been reduced by 59% so far – the band has made every effort to make the physical release of “Moon Music” as sustainable as possible.
Moon Music” is the first album worldwide to be released as a 140g EcoRecord rPET LP. This means that each copy contains nine recycled PET plastic bottles made from household waste. This avoids the production of more than 25 tons of new plastic and reduces CO2 emissions during production by 85 percent per kilogram compared to conventional 140g vinyl. The CD edition of “Moon Music” also sets new standards. It is the first in the world to be released on an EcoCD made from 90% recycled polycarbonate obtained from household waste. At least 78% less CO2 emissions per kilogram are produced in this way, and the production of more than five tons of new plastic is also eliminated.
The album will also be released in a strictly limited and numbered first edition, which will be produced to higher specifications than all future editions. All formats of the first edition are clearly marked as First Edition and all EcoRecord rPET LP products are also individually numbered.
