In celebration of the fortieth anniversary of one of the most important soundtracks in film history, Walt Disney Records is releasing a Special Collectors Edition of John Williams’ remastered film soundtrack, “Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV – A New Hope).”
In addition to the score, conducted and composed by five-time Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams, the limited-edition, one-of-a-kind 3-LP set includes a 48-page hardcover book featuring rare images of the 1977 film and music production, as well as two essays: “Tuning Up a Galaxy” by author Jeff Bond describes the phenomenon of the “Star Wars” film series and how John Williams changed film music forever. “John Williams’ Journey To Star Wars” by Jeff Eldridge charts the early career of John Williams – from his musical influences to his enduring legacy.
LP 3 of the set also offers a very special Star Wars experience: Side A impresses with a 3D hologram of the Death Star and side B shows the Star Wars anniversary logo.
