“Tales Of Mystery And Imagination Edgar Allan Poe” will be re-released in various formats, including this 2LP Heavyweight 45 RPM Audiophile Edition.
The Alan Parsons Project’s debut studio album was originally released in June 1976. The album’s lyrical and musical themes are retellings of horror stories and poems by Edgar Allan Poe. The album was a worldwide success, selling nearly a million copies and reaching platinum status in a number of countries, including Germany and Canada.
This edition was expertly cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios in November 2024 on a custom-built Neumann VMS 80 lathe using high-resolution audio transfers from the original master tapes for the 2016 remastering. Includes a replica of the original album’s 8-page booklet and a printed insert with a sleeve note featuring quotes from Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson.
