After splitting up in the early 80s, Yes made a surprising comeback in 1983 with “90125”. The album was recorded with a new line-up: Longtime members Jon Anderson, Chris Squire and Alan White were joined by guitarist Trevor Rabin and keyboardist Tony Kaye. The album also brought a new, more streamlined sound, for which the British avant-pop producer Trevor Horn was responsible. Thanks to his influence, the English progressive rock veterans sounded modern. Their sound seemed to be in tune with the times, just as MTV was beginning its triumphant advance.
F. Heckert in HiFiVision 12/92: “With 90125, with which the band Yes celebrated a furious comeback in 1983. With a far more straightforward arrangement, but always blessed with full-blooded magic, Horn finally gave the typical Yes style the three-dimensional sound space it had so long lacked for the full development of its charisma.
Analogue Productions is proud to offer the definitive reissue of 90125 as a deluxe 180-gram 45 RPM 2LP.
